13.08.2001     Bemerkungen zur Badile Nordkante:     Schneefelder grösser (und weiss statt blanko) wie sonst (Viel Schnee heuer - 20m!), aber die Wände trockener als sonst (kein Schnee). Letztes Schneefeld vor dem Einstieg kritisch in der früh, ohne Steigeisen u. Pickel. Die neue(?) Linksquerung, wegen dem Felsausbruck, ist schwer V (VI?), aber mit 2 neuen Bohrhaken versehen, paßt aber nicht zu dem Rest der Route. Der Felssturz war offensichtlich in der Nähe der alten Abseilroute. Die ganze Kante ist jetzt mit sehr großen Abseilhaken versehen, und anscheinend wird jetzt direkt an der Kante abgeseilt, nicht westlich davon wie bisher. Die Route zurück, ist gut markiert. Der Abstieg vom ersten Paß (Porcellizzo) ist nach wie vor schwierig, (Gott sei Dank!), ohne Steigeisen u. Pickel klettert man neben dem Schneefeld hinunter (III), überquert eine Schneerinne und steigt zuletzt über dem nicht mehr zu steilen Schneefeld hinunter. Der Abstieg vom zweiten Paß (Trubinasca) ist mit Ketten versehen (Klettersteig). SFr wird auf der Gianetti genommen.

13.08.2001     Conditions on the Badile north ridge:     The snow slopes are bigger (and white instead of ice) than usual (20m of snow this winter!), but the walls are drier than usual - no snow. The last snow slope leading to the start of the ridge is very dodgy early in the morning without crampons and an axe. The new(?) traverse left, because of the rockfall is difficult V (VI?), but has 2 new bolts, doesn't however match the character of the rest of the route. The rockfall seems to have been at the top of the old abseil route. The whole ridge is now fitted with very large abseil rings, and it seems as though one now abseils directly on the ridge, not to the side as previously. The 2 pass route back is well marked. The descent from the first pass (Porcellizzo) is still difficult (thank goodness!), without crampons and axe one can climb down the side of the snow slope (III), cross a snow gully and finally use the snow slope where it's not so steep any more. The descent from the second pass (Trubinasca) is fitted with chains (Klettersteig). Swiss francs are accepted in the Gianetti.
